Joshua Gobert Graduate Portfolio
Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas a kid full of hopes and dreams. Growing up in a big family definitely may have been challenging for others but I can only remember the great times we have shared. I had two older brothers to look up to and two younger brothers to be an example to and the ones who were holding everything together were my parents of 35 years of marriage. Nothing came easy but with hard work and dedication many things have been rewarded. I graduated from Lamar University in December of 2014 with a bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. I started my job in January 2015 at Anderson Academy. I am still there teaching first grade. I am also currently completing my masters degree at Houston Baptist University in Education Administration. With faith and hard work, I hope to be graduating Spring of 2017 with my principal's certification. I love my calling as an educator and I believe we all have a person in life and I think God has lead me to mine..

I felt that Smore and Graphic Organizer fits here because we had to make decisions about what is appropriate to implement and using current technologies and applications to implement items in both. I learned that sometimes utilizing some of the most simple strategies and techniques can also be so helpful in the learning and development of your students. In the scrapbook we had to identify task requirements and apply various search strategies. We also had to analyze and evaluate not only different techniques but also various electronic information in the process of creating the scrapbook. I learned that this is a great resource where information can be saved and utilized for further research. This will support and enhance your teaching and the learning of your students. The Treasure hunt fits here because it uses task appropriate tools to synthesize knowledge. It is fits here because it is a way to create and modify and evaluate the work that supports the learner. The rubric also supports the work of the learner. It helps evaluate the learners and or groups work. I learned that sometimes utilizing a rubric will not only guide the teacher but also guide the learners. Rubric will help the learner understand what is being asked. The TEASe and Web 2.0 fits here because it utilizes so many aspects of technology. It also fits because within the TEASe and Web 2.0 so much information was communicated but in so many formats. You had the music, video, and text which would reach the students are more coherent to music, or visually and etc. The TEASe was so draining for me but I definitely learned something that I will take with me and utilize in the future in my classroom. It is a great way to engage and support the learning of your learners. The unit plan fits here because you have plan, organize, deliver and evaluate your students during each lesson throughout the unit plan. You incorporate technology throughout each part of the unit plan. In the unit plan you have to ensure that incorporate the TEKS. I learned the value of taking the time to plan. I also learned the importance of incorporating a variety of techniques to ensure that each students it being taught and reached. |
